CGEWHO Demand Survey 2026 Extended: Apply for Government Housing in 5 Cities

The Central Government Employees Welfare Housing Organisation (CGEWHO) has officially extended the Demand Survey 2026 for its upcoming housing schemes. This is an important opportunity for eligible Central Government employees and other entitled categories to express their interest in CGEWHO dwelling units across select cities in India.

The demand survey deadline has now been extended up to 31 January 2026, giving applicants additional time to participate.


About CGEWHO

The Central Government Employees Welfare Housing Organisation (CGEWHO) is an autonomous body functioning under the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India. Registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, CGEWHO was established to develop housing projects for Central Government employees on a No Profit No Loss and self-financing basis.

Over the years, CGEWHO has successfully completed 34 housing projects, delivering approximately 17,796 flats across various cities in India.


Cities Covered Under the Extended Demand Survey

The demand survey extension applies to the following locations:

  • Kolkata (West Bengal)
  • Raipur (Chhattisgarh)
  • Puducherry
  • Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh)
  • Ludhiana (Punjab)

Interested applicants can now submit their demand survey forms till 31 January 2026.


Ongoing CGEWHO Housing Projects

Currently, CGEWHO is managing several housing schemes across the country, including:

  • Kolkata Phase-III – 236 Dwelling Units
  • Greater Noida Phase-II – 336 Dwelling Units
  • Sector-79, SAS Nagar (Mohali) – 402 Dwelling Units
  • Visakhapatnam – 385 Dwelling Units

These projects reflect CGEWHO’s continued commitment to providing quality housing to government employees.


Purpose of the Demand Survey

The demand survey is conducted without any financial commitment. Applicants are not required to pay any registration or initial amount at this stage.

The main objective of the survey is:

  • To assess actual demand
  • To help CGEWHO take informed decisions regarding future housing projects

Participation in the survey does not guarantee allotment, but it provides a priority advantage when the scheme is officially launched.


Eligibility Criteria

Priority-I Applicants

  • Serving or retired Central Government employees
  • Spouses of deceased Central Government employees or pensioners
  • CGEWHO employees with a minimum of one year of service

Priority-II Applicants

  • Employees of Central PSUs, State Governments, UT Administrations
  • Employees of autonomous bodies, corporations, and nationalized banks
  • Serving personnel of Ministry of Defence and Indian Railways

Reservation and Allotment Process

  • 50% of the dwelling units will be reserved for demand survey respondents
  • Allotment will be done based on priority categories
  • Applicants who do not get confirmed allotment will still be included in the final draw when the scheme is announced
  • No claims will be entertained after the final cut-off date communicated through email, SMS, or letter

Cost and Project Timeline

  • The cost of flats will be announced only after finalization of the scheme
  • CGEWHO generally constructs multi-storeyed buildings with lifts
  • Project planning and scheme announcement may take 1–2 years
  • Overall project completion is expected within 4 years from the official scheme launch

Applicants must submit their application in the prescribed format on A4 size paper.

  2. Download the demand survey application form
  3. Fill in the required details carefully
  4. Send the application in an envelope clearly marked
    “Demand Survey – [City Name]”
  5. Submit the form on or before 31 January 2026
