🚆 Indian Railways Launches “Promotion for Selection Posts” Sub-Module in HRMS from 1st November 2025
The Railway Board has announced the official launch of the “Promotion for Selection Posts” sub-module under the Unified Digital Interface for Promotion (UDIP) module of HRMS, effective from 1st November 2025. This move marks another major digital step towards complete automation of promotion processes across Indian Railways.
🔹 Background
Earlier, the UDIP Module for promotion of non-selection posts was launched on 30th June 2025 through a Board letter. After successful implementation and testing, the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) has now developed and validated the sub-module for Promotion for Selection Posts as well.
🔹 What’s New in This Launch?
With the introduction of this new sub-module, all promotions—both selection and non-selection posts—will now be processed exclusively through the UDIP Module of HRMS. This means:
- ✅ No physical or manual processing will be done from 1st November 2025.
- ✅ All promotion cases across Indian Railways must be handled digitally through HRMS.
- ✅ A detailed user manual will be available on the HRMS portal for guidance.
🔹 Training and Support
The Railway Board has confirmed that training sessions for all Zonal Railways and Field Units have already been conducted. However, if any unit requires additional assistance, they may contact the HRMS team of CRIS for technical support. The team will provide necessary resources to ensure a smooth transition to the new system.
