📰 Mandatory Induction Training Programme for MTS in Central Secretariat Announced by DoPT
The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, has issued a new Office Memorandum (OM) dated 27th October 2025 regarding the Mandatory Induction Training Programme for Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) of the Central Secretariat.
This initiative marks an important step toward improving efficiency, discipline, and service delivery among newly recruited MTS personnel in the Central Government.
Key Highlights of the Office Memorandum
- Mandatory Two-Week Training Programme
- The training will be of two weeks duration, conducted in a blended mode (both online and offline).
- Completion of this training is compulsory for probation confirmation of MTS recruited through Staff Selection Commission (SSC) 2025 and onwards.
- Online Training via iGOT Platform
- A 7-day online course will be conducted through the iGOT (Integrated Government Online Training) platform.

- Office Productivity Tools
- Cyber Safety
- Government Procedures
- Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH)
- Conduct and Leave Rules
- Yoga and Swachhta
- Basics of Communication and Professional Effectiveness
- 3-Day Physical Training Session
- Following the online component, a 3-day classroom training will be held at recognized institutes.
- Sessions will focus on:
- Roles and Responsibilities of MTS
- Office Procedures and MS Office Usage
- Behavioural Competencies (Office Etiquette, Hygiene, Ethics)
- Gender Sensitization and Communication Skills
- Safety and Well-being at Workplace
- Training Institutes
- The physical training may be organized at:
- Defence Headquarters Training Institute (DHTI), New Delhi
- Central Hindi Training Institute (CHTI), New Delhi
- National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW), New Delhi
- Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), New Delhi
- National CPWD Academy, Ghaziabad
- Or any other training institute under the administrative control of the Ministry/Department.
- The physical training may be organized at:
Objective of the Programme
This induction training programme aims to:
- Strengthen the foundation of newly recruited MTS personnel.
- Enhance understanding of government rules, technology, and citizen-centric service delivery.
- Promote discipline, accountability, and professionalism across Central Government offices.
The DoPT has emphasized that the programme aligns with the government’s vision of efficient, transparent, and technology-driven governance.
Implementation Responsibility
Each Ministry/Department/Organization (MDO) will be responsible for:
- Conducting and monitoring the training for MTS posted under them.
- Ensuring successful completion of both online and physical components before confirming probation.
- Customizing training modules based on specific departmental needs.
