OROP Pension Revision 2025: MoD Issues Corrected Pension Tables for Defence Pensioners

The Ministry of Defence has released an important clarification regarding the OROP Pension Revision 2025, addressing several typographical and formatting errors identified in the OROP pension tables issued earlier. This latest order, dated 13 October 2025, ensures that Defence Forces Pensioners and Family Pensioners receive accurate pension calculations effective from 01 July 2024.

The revised communication was issued by the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare (DESW) and includes corrected versions of Table Nos. 11, 26, 48, 59 and 94, which form part of the OROP pension structure.

Why This Correction was Required

The MoD had previously circulated 121 OROP pension tables vide letter dated 04 September 2024. During scrutiny, several discrepancies were discovered, leading to confusion among PDAs and pensioners. To maintain accuracy and fairness, the Ministry has now replaced the affected tables.

Here are the key corrections announced:

1. Correction in Table No. 11

  • Column 4 contained pension rates for incorrect qualifying service ranges.
  • Values meant for 1.5 to 33 years were mistakenly printed under 0.5 to 32 years.
  • As a result, pension rates for 32.5 years and 33 years & above appeared as “0”.
  • The table has now been completely rectified.

2. Missing Pension Data in Table No. 26

  • The OROP rate for Lt. Col (Qualifying Service 33 years & above) was missing.
  • This omission has now been corrected.

3. Errors in Tables No. 48 & 94

  • These tables mistakenly displayed OROP rates beyond the maximum terms of engagement for:
    • Sepoy
    • Hony Naik
    • Naik/Naik (TS)
    • Hony Havildar
    • Havildar
    • Hony Naib Subedar
    • Artificer-III-II (Navy only)
    • Naib Subedar
    • Subedar

4. Errors in Table No. 59

  • Similar to Tables 48 and 94, Table 59 also showed OROP pension rates beyond permissible service limits for several ranks.

All these issues have now been formally corrected.

Revised Tables Issued

The MoD has issued corrected versions of the following OROP tables:

  • Table 11
  • Table 26
  • Table 48
  • Table 59
  • Table 94

These revised tables replace the previously circulated versions and must be used by PDAs for all pension-related calculations w.e.f. 01 July 2024.

Arrears and Recovery Process

Following OROP Pension Revision 2025 corrections:

  • Any arrears due to underpayment will be released by the Pension Disbursing Agencies (PDAs).
  • Any overpayment recovery, if applicable, will also be processed as per existing government rules and procedures.

Other Conditions Remain Unchanged

The Ministry has clarified that all other terms and conditions of the OROP scheme remain unaffected by this correction.

Conclusion

The OROP Pension Revision 2025 update brings clarity and accuracy to pension calculations for Defence pensioners and family pensioners. With corrected tables now officially issued, PDAs can proceed confidently with revisions effective from 01 July 2024, ensuring fairness and consistency across the system.
