RBE No.119/2025: CGEGIS Table of Benefits for October to December 2025 Issued
The Railway Board has released RBE No.119/2025 regarding the Central Government Employees Group Insurance Scheme (CGEGIS), 1980 and the updated Tables of Benefits for the Savings Fund applicable from 01 October 2025 to 31 December 2025.
These revised tables have been issued by the Ministry of Finance through their Office Memorandum No. 7(1)/EV/2023 dated 12.11.2025 and circulated by the Railway Board for implementation across all Zonal Railways, Production Units, RDSO and NAIR.
Background of the Update
Earlier, the CGEGIS benefit tables for the period 01.07.2025 to 30.09.2025 were issued via Ministry of Finance OM dated 04.08.2025 and circulated through RBE No. 84/2025.
The new update through RBE No.119/2025 is a continuation of that communication and provides the latest benefits for the next quarter.
These benefit tables are essential for calculating the savings fund amount payable to Central Government employees under the CGEGIS scheme at the time of retirement, cessation of service, or in case of death.
What RBE No.119/2025 Contains
The Railway Board’s circular includes:
- A forwarding note sharing the Ministry of Finance OM.
- CGEGIS Tables of Benefits for the period 1 October – 31 December 2025.
- Instructions for Zonal Railways and Production Units to take necessary action.
- Confirmation that the updated tables replace previously applicable quarterly tables.

Why the CGEGIS Table of Benefits Is Important
Under the CGEGIS, 1980, deductions are made from an employee’s salary towards:
- Insurance Fund, and
- Savings Fund
The quarterly “Tables of Benefits” determine:
- The accumulated value of the Savings Fund
- The final payable amount to employees or their nominees
These tables account for interest accruals and are revised every quarter by the Ministry of Finance.
